Mars Finance reports that, according to Theblock, the main subnet developer Covenant AI on Bittensor announced its exit from Bittensor. Covenant AI founder Sam Dare stated that what attracted builders, miners, validators, and investors to the ecosystem was Bittensor’s promise of being free from control by any single entity. But that promise is a lie. Dare cited Bittensor co-founder Jacob Steeves as the main reason for his departure. He claimed that Jacob has been exercising authority over the subnet to regain control of Covenant because Covenant has grown too large to manage. It is reported that after Covenant issued the announcement, Bittensor’s TAO token price plummeted, dropping from $338 to $285 in a short period, a decline of 15%.
