"Global strategic models" are phasing out.
The “global strategic model,” which utilizes the global supply chain and symbolizes the benefits of free trade, is disappearing. American electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla has halted the development of low-cost global strategic models. A “fragmented” world is gradually becoming the norm, and such a world lacks the dominant power to lead innovation and rule-making. Automakers are being forced to reconstruct their business models.
Tesla’s “Model 2” is Aborted

As 2025 approaches, executives from American parts manufacturers that have business relationships with Tesla have begun receiving such requests from Tesla. The global strategic model “Model Y,” launched in 2020, is facing a new comprehensive redesign, but Tesla seems to have decided to continue selling it in the short term.
