The situation in the Middle East remains uncertain.

On the morning of March 27, local time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement saying that the Israeli military conducted overnight airstrikes on ballistic missile production facilities and air defense systems within Iran. The IDF also stated that it targeted Iran’s most important naval missile and mine production facilities. Meanwhile, Israeli strikes continue to escalate throughout Lebanon.

Additionally, the latest remarks from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi have drawn attention from all sides. Raisi emphasized during a call with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid that Iran is determined to continue its legitimate and robust defense against all acts of aggression.

Israel Launches Airstrikes

On March 27, according to CCTV News, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the Israeli military conducted overnight airstrikes on ballistic missile production facilities and air defense systems within Iran.

The statement mentioned that in the airstrikes targeting Iran’s capital Tehran, the IDF struck infrastructure used by Iran to produce weapons, focusing on its ballistic missile production bases.

The statement also indicated that in airstrikes against western Iran, the IDF targeted missile launch sites and storage facilities belonging to Iran.

The IDF announced that it had struck Iran’s most important naval missile and mine production facilities.

The IDF stated that this facility is located in Yazd, central Iran, and is where the Iranian Navy produces the majority of its missiles and mines, used by Iran for planning, research, assembly, and storage of advanced missiles. It is reported that these missiles can be launched from cruisers, submarines, and helicopters to strike moving and fixed maritime targets.

The IDF claimed that this strike was based on the previous elimination of senior Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy officials, dealing a heavy blow to Iran’s naval production capabilities.

The IDF stated that it will continue to increase its strikes on Iran’s military industry to weaken its production capabilities accumulated over the years.

There has been no response from the Iranian side regarding this.

Moreover, Israel continues to launch airstrikes on Lebanon. On the evening of the 26th, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Action Center announced that from March 2 to 26, the strikes and airstrikes launched by Israel in Lebanon had resulted in 1,116 deaths and 3,229 injuries. At the same time, Israeli attacks continue to escalate throughout Lebanon.

On the 26th, the IDF issued a statement saying that earlier that day, an Israeli soldier was killed in southern Lebanon by an anti-tank missile attack from Hezbollah, with four others injured.

The statement noted that the deceased, Volansky, was part of the IDF’s 7th Armored Brigade. According to preliminary investigations, Hezbollah militants fired two anti-tank missiles at an IDF tank in southern Lebanon, resulting in Volansky’s death and injuring the other four.

The statement said that since Israel resumed ground operations in southern Lebanon, four soldiers have been killed.

Israeli opposition leader Lapid accused the government on the 26th of pushing military operations in multiple directions simultaneously, leading to strained troop levels and pushing the nation toward a “security disaster.” Previously, IDF Chief of Staff Azar had warned that the military was heading toward internal collapse.

Lapid, leader of the opposition party Yesh Atid and former Prime Minister, stated in a televised address on the 26th that the government is allowing the military to engage in multi-front operations without a clear strategy and with severely insufficient forces, putting excessive pressure on the IDF, and pointed out that the current situation is weakening national security defense capabilities, pushing the nation toward a “security disaster.”

According to Israeli i24 news on the 26th, Azar warned during a security cabinet meeting on the 25th that the military is “heading toward internal collapse” under the sustained pressure of combat, stating that he had “issued ten warnings.”

Reports indicate that the IDF is currently maintaining military operations in multiple directions, including the Gaza Strip and northern Israel, with the long-term mobilization of reserve forces putting continuous pressure on its troop levels.

Latest Remarks from the Iranian President

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported on the 26th that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized during a call with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid that Iran is determined to continue its legitimate and robust defense against all acts of aggression.

The report stated that Raisi and Rashid exchanged views on the regional situation since the U.S. and Israel launched military strikes against Iran.

Raisi stated that Iran has the right to implement legitimate defense against U.S. military bases in the region, which are sources of aggression, and called for vigilance against the conspiracy of “the U.S. and Israel attempting to create division and turmoil among Islamic nations by using armed forces and terrorist organizations, and invading Iran via neighboring territories.”

He also condemned the U.S. and Israel’s attacks on the positions of Iraqi military and security forces, emphasizing Iran’s willingness to further strengthen interactions and cooperation with Iraq.

Rashid strongly condemned the U.S. and Israel’s military strikes against Iran during the call, stating that this is an action against all Islamic nations and the entire region, and emphasized Iraq’s principled stance against this war, stating that no third party is allowed to use Iraqi territory to invade Iran.

Additionally, Iranian media reported on the 27th that Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Iravani, has sent a letter to the UN protesting that the Iranian Speaker of Parliament and Foreign Minister have been listed as assassination targets, stating that reports of these two individuals being temporarily removed from the U.S. and Israel’s elimination list confirm that the threat of assassination indeed exists, “This threat stems from a criminal mindset, as they openly call ‘rules of engagement’ ‘foolish’, which is deeply concerning.”

Iravani stated in the letter that he hopes UN Security Council members “immediately pay attention to the media reports.” These reports indicate that there is indeed a framework for an assassination operation against senior Iranian officials, which has been systematically implemented since the current conflict began.

Iravani said: “Such (assassination) policies seriously violate international law. The so-called ‘suspension’ of additional conditions also confirms that this threat remains real, intentional, and ongoing. This threat stems from a criminal mindset, as they openly call ‘rules of engagement’ ‘foolish’, which is deeply concerning.”

The Wall Street Journal reported on the 25th, citing U.S. officials, that Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian have been temporarily removed from the U.S. and Israeli elimination list for a period of 4 to 5 days to facilitate U.S.-Iran negotiations.

Subsequently, Reuters reported that Israel plans to assassinate Ghalibaf and Amir-Abdollahian, having tracked their movements. After Pakistan learned of this information, it informed the U.S. that if the two were assassinated, Iran would have no one to negotiate with the U.S. The U.S. therefore requested that Israel temporarily remove the two from its assassination list.
