These days, I've been following the news about Teacher Zhang Xuefeng. Although I don't usually pay much attention, I am truly moved by his deeds and vision. Today, I saw his daughter speak for the first time, and I was genuinely brought to tears. She said, “My dad is very great. They say the star of Wenquxing in the sky has been replaced, and it chose my dad.”
Zhang Xuefeng is truly great. Born into a humble family, he dedicates himself to providing a “ladder” for students from poor backgrounds. Objectively speaking, most people under the Chinese education system are unaware of how to choose their majors, and some don’t even realize how important it is. He is genuinely helping college entrance exam students. Additionally, he has spent his life practicing effort, struggle, and dedication. But putting all that aside, he is also a father. Losing a father, especially for a daughter who loved him so much, must be incredibly painful.
Perhaps life is like that—when the moon is full, it wanes; when water is full, it overflows. Someone who has made such a significant contribution to society leaves this world early. As netizens said, I hope his daughter, carrying her father’s love, lives bravely and happily. Life is inherently full of regrets and can never be perfect, and perhaps that is an enlightenment for us all.
For most Chinese people who have experienced poverty, the significance of “struggle” is often exaggerated. Even if they have a worry-free life, they still habitually push themselves to the limit. The meaning of life can be defined by each individual—pursuing wealth or fame is nothing wrong, but we should not overlook the most important thing in life: love for oneself. Loving oneself is the foundation for loving others.
