@CCTV International News reported that Iran’s official media latest said that Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, “will soon issue a statement.”

According to earlier reports from Israeli media, an Israeli official stated that on the night of March 16 and early morning of March 17, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes inside Iran, targeting Larijani. It is claimed that the Israeli side is currently “unclear whether Larijani was killed or injured in the attack.”

Earlier today, Israeli Chief of Staff Zamiir said, “The night operation achieved significant results, which could impact the outcome of the campaign and the Israeli military’s mission”—Israeli media interpret this as referring to the airstrike targeting Larijani. According to reports from Israeli media on the 17th, Israeli assessments believe they have successfully “assassinated” Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Iran has yet to make any official statement on this matter.
