“The UAE Has Thick Skin”: Emirates Legal Network Iftar Unites Prominent National Figures
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Against the backdrop of a complex regional landscape, Emirates Legal Network (ELN) hosted its landmark Ramadan Iftar, transforming the traditional gathering into a powerful forum of national solidarity. The event brought together an elite assembly of prominent UAE Nationals, senior jurists, and legal architects to reaffirm their commitment to the nation’s security and sovereignty.
The Iftar was distinguished by the presence of high-ranking UAE National figures and leaders from the country’s most influential legal institutions led by DR. Mahmood Hussain, Founding Partner M&Co. Legal, Omar Momany, Partner Squire Patton Boggs and Massuma AlSayegh & Udai AlQazwini, Founders of Dar Al Balagh Advocates.

This prominent attendance served as a strategic“hook,” signalling that the UAE’s legal framework is steered by a unified, domestic front dedicated to protecting the nation’s interests. The gathering underscored that the legal community is not merely a witness to the nation’s growth, but an active participant in its defence.
The evening was framed by the defiant and resilient spirit of the UAE’s leadership. Attendees gathered not just to break bread, but to echo the firm stance of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who recently reminded the world of the nation’s indomitable character:“The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh. We are no EASY PREY. We will carry out our duty towards our country.”
Emirates Legal Network framed the legal profession as the nation’s“intellectual shield.” While the UAE remains a beacon of peace, the current regional climate marked by external tensions and strikes has only served to harden the resolve of its legal practitioners.
In light of the event, Ahmed Elnaggar, Founder of Emirates Legal Network, CEO & Founder of El Naggar & Partners said:“Our legal infrastructure is the ‘thick skin’ that ensures our sovereignty remains untouched by regional volatility. By aligning with His Highness’s vision, we are proving that the UAE is 'bitter flesh’s nation too robust to be rattled and too prepared to be exploited. This gathering is a testament that we are stepping up, as one community, to fulfill our duty to the United Arab Emirates”
Dr. Mohamed Elmogy, President of Association of Corporate Councils Middle East & General Counsel of Siemens Energy highlighted the importance of athering with the UAE’s finest legal minds during Ramadan is a powerful reminder that we aren’t just working in this industry we are its heartbeat. He also added“Beyond our professional resilience and ‘thick skin’ lies a genuine commitment to excellence that binds us together. I am incredibly proud of how ELN continues to push the legal industry forward; it is an honor to be part of a community that is here to stay, turning this gathering into a moment of true, heartfelt connection”.
