US Stock Trends | Dow Jones Rally 300 Points in Early Trading

U.S. stocks plunged more than 700 points on Thursday, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average rebounded by 300 points in early trading today.

As of 9:36 p.m. Hong Kong time, the Dow was at 46,992 points, up 314 points or 0.67%; the S&P 500 was at 6,708 points, up 35 points or 0.54%; the Nasdaq was at 22,420 points, up 108 points or 0.49%.

U.S. January Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index increased by 0.3% month-over-month, in line with market expectations; up 2.8% year-over-year, slightly below the expected 2.9%.

Oil prices declined, with New York crude futures currently at $93.86 per barrel, down $1.86 or 1.89%; London Brent crude futures at $99.2, down $1.22 or 1.21%.
