Netflix has cut dozens of employees from its global product team during an internal restructuring. Netflix declined to comment or confirm the exact number of layoffs, but it is understood that the layoffs mainly involved the creative studio department.

The team consists of designers and producers responsible for creating marketing materials such as posters and in-app trailers, as well as providing related content for offline experiences across content, product, and marketing segments.

As part of the restructuring, some employees were laid off, while others were transferred to different roles within Netflix.

Sources say the layoffs are unrelated to individual performance, and the number of affected employees accounts for only a very small portion of the entire team.

At the time of the layoffs, Netflix had just received a $2.8 billion breakup fee — as Paramount and Tianwu Media increased their hostile takeover bids for Warner Bros., forcing Netflix to abandon its previous deal.
