This year will launch Chang'e-7 to undertake new missions: finding water on the moon

This year, Chang’e 7 is set to launch, targeting the lunar south pole at 85 degrees south latitude or higher in the Aitken Basin. China is expected to become the first country in the world to find water on the Moon. People’s scientist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ye Peijian, said: “We have taken many approaches to find water, both on the surface and in craters. The lunar south pole has permanently shadowed craters year-round, and scientists speculate that these areas contain large amounts of water ice resources.” Chang’e 7 will carry an innovative leap rover, which will conduct the first close-up exploration of lunar shadowed craters. Looking forward to the successful completion of the mission! (CCTV News)
