Spanish Foreign Minister: Any U.S. Action Against Spain Would Be "Pointless"
People’s Financial News, March 13 — On March 12 local time, Spanish Foreign Minister Alvarez stated that since trade issues are managed by the European Union and there is no reason to justify any actions taken by the United States against Spain, any such actions by the U.S. are “meaningless.” The day before, U.S. President Trump once again criticized the Spanish government and threatened to cut trade ties with Spain. Alvarez responded that the EU’s trade policy is a common policy, and the European Commission has made it clear that commercial coercion against one country is an attack on all EU member states. Alvarez also said that Spain is not worried that the U.S. might take some action. (CCTV News)
