A total of 682 people were arrested for conspiracy to commit fraud, obtaining property through deception, and money laundering, involving 580 fraud and technology crime cases with a total amount of HKD 620 million. Among these, during the law enforcement operation codenamed "Zhan Wang" by the Hong Kong Police Cybersecurity and Technology Crime Bureau, a local online romance scam group was dismantled, along with a group using virtual currencies for money laundering. This group has deceived 314 victims over the past 16 months, totaling HKD 44 million, with an average of about HKD 150,000 per case.
