The global stablecoin market is expected to experience explosive growth in 2025. According to Artemis data, the total stablecoin trading volume has surpassed $33 trillion, a 72% increase compared to the same period last year, with an astonishing growth rate.

In this wave, the competition between USDC and USDT is particularly noteworthy. USDC trading volume reached $18.3 trillion, surpassing USDT's $13.3 trillion. However, from a market capitalization perspective, USDT still maintains a leading position with a scale of $187 billion, indicating different competitive dynamics in various dimensions.

Q4 alone saw a trading volume of $11 trillion. This surge is mainly driven by the advancement of the GENIUS Act and the booming development of the DeFi ecosystem. Policy support and ecological innovation are driving forces behind this, continuously expanding stablecoin application scenarios and maintaining active trading.

Looking ahead, industry forecasts predict that by 2030, the global stablecoin trading volume will reach $56 trillion. This means there is still significant growth potential in the next five years, and stablecoins are becoming the infrastructure of on-chain finance.

nah actually... 33 trillion in stablecoin volume sounds wild until you realize 72% of that's probably just whales washing trades back and forth. been here since the UST collapse, these numbers always look better than the actual utility underneath. what's the real settlement velocity tho? that's what matters

ngl USDT still flexing market cap while USDC is grinding volume... classic tale of who owns the exits vs who owns the rails, technically speaking

tbh the 72% yoy spike is exactly what network effects theory predicted... most people just weren't paying attention when we were mapping adoption curves back in '22. usdc flipping usdt on volume is interesting but market cap tells the real story — infrastructure plays don't work like that.
