I have a question I want to ask everyone:

If a tech expert back then hadn't founded that leading exchange, but instead directly entered the US stock market as a senior technology executive, how much do you think the related exchange tokens would be worth now?

A thousand dollars? Ten thousand dollars? It sounds a bit like a fantasy.

But this story of "cryptographic technology penetrating traditional fields" is happening in another form. There's a project called Walrus (WAL) that’s worth a close look.

Currently, WAL is somewhat like the shadow of a top exchange token from 2017—but it takes a more foundational approach and has bigger ambitions.

**1. The logic behind this is more complex than you might think**

I spent a lot of time studying Walrus’s technical documentation and development plans, and my conclusion is straightforward: most people actually don’t truly understand what this project is doing.

On the surface, it appears to be "decentralized storage." But in reality?

Walrus targets the entire Web3 data infrastructure layer.

NFTs need storage. AI model training data needs storage. RWA asset certificates need storage. On-chain game assets, social content... as long as it involves "data," several fundamental questions cannot be avoided:

Where is the data stored? How to verify authenticity? Who provides the endorsement?

Walrus’s solution is to bring data onto the chain natively, ensuring verifiability and composability, thereby enabling financialization.

This is not an application layer innovation. It’s rewriting the foundational infrastructure of Web3.

**2. Why is it worth paying attention to now**

The integration of AI and Web3 is accelerating. Data has become the most critical means of production. Whoever controls the trustworthy data underlying layer will hold the future discourse power.

I'm not an exchange coin, but speaking of which, the WAL idea does have some merit. Listen, the underlying infrastructure is indeed easy to overlook, but the ones who truly hold the power of discourse are often these invisible things.

Ha, it's the same story about "underlying infrastructure" again. How many times have I heard this? Is Walrus really that amazing? Feels a bit exaggerated. Data on the chain can be financialized—sounds great, but who is actually using it? Early investments have made a lot of money. Now, what should I bet on when entering the market?

Coming back to discover treasure projects? I need to check out WAL. Stories at the infrastructure layer are indeed easy to overlook, but at the end of the day, actions speak louder than words. The competition in the storage track is fierce—why should it be this one? Data financialization sounds explosive, but I'm worried it might just be another PPT project. However, I agree with the logic of underlying infrastructure; the story of exchange tokens can indeed be replicated.
