New Developments in Digital Asset Regulation Will Be Discussed in Depth at the Conference

The Vietnamese government has recently made significant breakthroughs in the regulation of digital assets, demonstrating a clear determination to establish a legal framework for the industry and support its development.

• In October 2024, the government released the “National Blockchain Technology Development Strategy,” which is planned to be implemented in 2025, aiming to strengthen the country’s infrastructure and promote Vietnam as a leader in regional Blockchain technology applications.

• Starting from the end of 2024, Congress will begin reviewing the “Digital Technology Industry Act,” which clarifies the legal definition of digital assets and proposes pilot digital asset trading platforms in major financial centers.

• The government also issued directives requiring the establishment of a comprehensive legal framework for digital assets, including virtual assets and service providers, by May 2025.
