Adobe agreed to pay the Department of Justice $75 million and provide an additional $75 million worth of free services to customers to settle claims over its subscription cancellation and disclosure practices.

“While we disagree with the government’s claims and deny any wrongdoing, we are pleased to resolve this matter,” the company said.

In June 2024, the Justice Department filed a complaint accusing Adobe of pushing consumers toward its annual paid monthly subscription without adequately disclosing that cancelling the plan in the first year could cost hundreds of dollars.

The department also said that Adobe’s cancellation processes were designed to make cancellation more difficult.
