獨立鏈上偵探 ZachXBT 指出，1 月 10 日晚間約 11 點 (UTC) 發生一起大額加密資產失竊事件，一名受害者因疑似遭遇硬體錢包相關的社交工程詐騙，損失超過 2.82 億美元價值的萊特幣 (LTC) 與比特幣 (BTC)。
根據這名調查者整理的鏈上資訊，攻擊者在竊得資產後，開始將大量 LTC 與 BTC 透過多家「即時兌換」服務轉換成門羅幣 (XMR)，帶動 XMR 價格短時間內明顯走高。
同時，部分比特幣也被透過 Thorchain 跨鏈轉移到以太坊、瑞波與萊特幣等網路，增加追蹤難度。
此次事件曝光的竊盜地址包括約 205 萬枚 LTC 與 1,459 枚 BTC，分別被標示為：
