Wu said has learned that the Snapshot page shows that the Aave community is voting on an ARFC proposal to "reduce the annual AAVE buyback budget from approximately $50 million to approximately $30 million," with current support at 99.37%. The proposal states that Aave DAO's lending fee income has declined approximately 25% from its peak, with January 2026 revenue at $7.95 million, lower than January 2025's $13.5 million; meanwhile, the 2026 operational budget is expected to be approximately $190 million, higher than 2025's annual revenue of approximately $142 million, resulting in a structural deficit. If the ARFC passes, the proposal will enter the formal AIP governance voting stage.
