Vitalik suggests: It's time to set up an on-chain Gas futures market

[Chain Post] Vitalik recently threw out a pretty interesting idea—should we create an on-chain gas futures market?

What he’s talking about is basically a prediction market-style setup, but dedicated to trading the future BASE FEE. This way, everyone could get a clear look at whether the market expects gas fees to go up or down, instead of just guessing.

What’s even more practical? You could actually hedge your future gas costs. For example, if you know you’ll be doing a bunch of on-chain operations next month, you could lock in your gas quota for that period now and set the price in advance. For teams that need frequent interactions or heavy users, this is almost a must-have.

Put simply, it turns the uncertainty of gas costs into something predictable and manageable. If this kind of trustless futures tool really gets going, it would definitely be a huge boost for the stability of the entire on-chain economy.
