Gate Charity Supports Disadvantaged Children's Education in Vietnam through NFT Sale
Blockchain has enabled new ways for people to transact, invest, and earn. One important but often overlooked application is for charitable fundraising. Gate Charity, the global non-profit philanthropic organization of Gate Group, is stepping up to connect charities and non-profit organizations with digital assets and use blockchain-integrated solutions to divert capital towards noble causes.
NFTs bringing quality education to underserved children
One of the recent charitable initiatives launched by Gate Charity was a fundraiser for the Tran Quang Khai Primary School in Vietnam, which cares for and educates homeless and disadvantaged children. In February 2023, Gate Charity invited children at this school to create unique artworks, which were minted and sold as NFTs on the blockchain.
Part of the funds raised has now funded an end-of-year celebration ceremony for the children on May 25, 2023. The ceremony was held in collaboration with the Tran Quang Khai Primary School, Ky Quang II pagoda, and Go Vap district Authority, providing the children with fun and engaging activities and scholarships to celebrate their success and growth.
Tran Quang Khai school headmaster, Ky Quang II padoga Abbot, all the teachers of volunteer classes, as well as representative from Ho Chi Minh city’s Association for Protection of Children’s Rights attended the event to celebrate these children’s achievements and happiness.
On top of this, Gate Charity donated brand-new uniforms and school supplies to the school, so the kids can begin their new school year with new equipment.
A proven crypto fundraising model
This latest initiative was made possible through Gate Charity’s fundraising model, where donors receive NFTs in return for donating cryptocurrency. The NFTs provide donors with an immutable and unique representation of their good deeds while also collecting funds on an international scale that are easily transferred to the recipients.
Gate Charity has implemented this model in several past charity initiatives, successfully selling thousands of NFTs that raised thousands of dollars for philanthropic causes. This is yet another successful example of how Gate Charity is merging blockchain and philanthropy and using one of blockchain’s underutilized applications to improve the lives of others.
