CoinWorld News reports that on January 30th, local time, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) under the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued an announcement updating the sanctions list related to Iran for counter-terrorism and non-proliferation purposes. Several high-ranking individuals from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and law enforcement agencies were listed on the "Specially Designated Nationals List" (SDN List). The announcement states that the newly sanctioned individuals include IRGC commanders from multiple provinces, leaders of the IRGC intelligence organization, and senior officials of law enforcement agencies. Most of these targets also face the risk of "secondary sanctions." (CCTV News)
