Lately I’ve been a bit torn up about this: using the mainnet feels solid, but the moment things get busy, the gas shoots up like the temperature in an oven—after clicking a couple of times, my mood is already ruined. Later on, I learned to be smarter: for everyday small amounts and frequent actions (swapping coins, collecting rewards), I try to move them to L2 as much as possible—the experience is really smoother; but when it comes to big amounts and contract permissions, I still go back to the mainnet and take it slow. I’d rather wait a few extra minutes than be startled awake at midnight by liquidation chain reactions.
I thought that after moving to L2 I’d never have to worry about gas again. Turns out that when I send things back to the mainnet, I still have to pay that “toll”… Anyway, I just treat it like fermentation now—no need to rush to get everything done in one go.
The macro chatter over the past couple of days has been all about rate-cut expectations, with the dollar and risk assets rising and falling together. To put it simply: once the mood kicks in, the chain gets even more crowded, and I’m even less willing to hard-fight my way through the mainnet. For now, that’s it—save where you can, and don’t treat transaction fees like a faith recharge.
