Abstract generation in progress

Dominion Energy has begun producing power from its Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, with the first commercial turbine now operational and supplying 14.7 megawatts to the grid. This marks a significant milestone for what is projected to be America’s largest offshore wind farm, despite previous federal stop-work orders and increased costs due to tariffs and delays. The project is currently 70% complete and is expected to power 660,000 homes by its estimated completion in early 2027.
