Domestic optical fiber market receives major signal; Fasten rises for 2 consecutive days with 2 daily limits, Zhouchi shares hit daily limit
(Source: Caixin)
The 2026 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) is a global event in the field of optical communications and networks, scheduled to be held from March 15 to 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the United States.
On March 13, the concept of optical fiber experienced repeated enthusiasm. As of the time of writing, the constituent stock Far East Sheng (000890.SZ) hit the limit up for two consecutive days, Zhaochi Co., Ltd. (002429.SZ) achieved its first limit up, and other stocks such as Guangyunda (300227.SZ), KIKANG Technology (920879.BJ), Xinde New Materials (301349.SZ), Lingyun Optical (688400.SH), Guangge Technology (688450.SH), and China General Nuclear Technology (000881.SZ) also rose.
In terms of news, recently, the domestic optical fiber market has received significant signals. Currently, the most widely used G.652.D single-mode optical fiber in communication and computing applications has some manufacturers quoting prices exceeding 50 yuan per core kilometer, with the market average stabilizing above 40 yuan, reaching a new high not seen in nearly seven years. Since the end of 2025, retail prices for optical fiber and cables have been continuously rising, with cumulative increases of 94% to 144% by February 2026. The prices of special optical fibers have risen even more rapidly, with G.657.A2 used in military and data centers reaching 60-70 yuan per core kilometer, and ultra-low-loss G.654.E soaring to 240-260 yuan per core kilometer, with monthly increases of 30% to 40%. The current price surge is driven by explosive demand for AI computing power and drones, combined with rigid supply-side constraints.
Additionally, the 2026 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) is a major global event in the field of optical communications and networks, scheduled for March 15-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Guosheng Securities pointed out that major technology giants have released a series of significant model updates within just two weeks. Coupled with the opening of new optical communication opportunities by CPO and the continuous rise in optical fiber and cable prices, the prosperity of the optical communication industry continues to be highlighted.
Huaxi Securities stated that the demand for tokens in the AI industry may increase day by day. Whether it is the development of large models from chatbots to agents or the enhancement of multimodal capabilities, all indicate a large demand for tokens. The demand for computing power will also be reflected in the need for upstream and midstream equipment and materials, such as optical communication components, PCBs (including ultra-hard materials, fiberglass fabrics, etc.), data centers, cloud computing services, and also in electricity demand, including gas turbines and space photovoltaics.
