Tongyi Lab Open-Sources Fun-CineForge, Film and TV Dubbing Enters AI Era, Media ETF Huaxia (516190) Holding Stock Focus Media Leads Gains
On the afternoon of March 17, the A-share media sector experienced a deep pullback after an early morning rally. As of 13:30, the Huaxia Media ETF (516190) was up 0.32%, with holdings in companies like Focus Media, 37 Interactive Entertainment, and Kaiying Network leading the gains.
In news, Alibaba Tongyi Laboratory officially released and open-sourced the multi-scenario multimodal voice-over large model Fun-CineForge for film and television. The model aims to address core issues in AI voice-over such as lip-sync mismatch, lack of emotional expression, and inconsistent voice tones across multiple characters. It also shares methods for building high-quality datasets. Data shows that the open-source CineDub dataset construction process reduces Chinese-English character error rates to about 1%, with speaker separation error rates at only 1.2%, providing a highly competitive training foundation for large models.
From a potential perspective, according to Business Research Insights, the global film and video production market is projected to reach approximately $316.3 billion by 2026. In terms of penetration, Grand View Research forecasts that the global AI video market will be about $4.5 billion in 2025, with a penetration rate of around 1.4%, still in the early stages.
Pacific Securities analysts pointed out that AI significantly reduces costs in film and TV content shooting, while also increasing efficiency by shortening production cycles and enriching content themes and formats. Domestic and international video models are rapidly iterating and breaking through performance barriers. The film and television industry is entering an AI popularization phase, with considerable room for growth in market penetration.
The Huaxia Media ETF (516190) closely tracks the CSI Entertainment Media Index, whose components are highly aligned with the “GEO concept.” Investing via ETFs is a good way to capture the AI application and media industry opportunities.
