February Power Battery TOP15 Battle Report: LG Energy Solution Advances 9 Positions, CATL Captures 50% Market Share

In February, China’s power battery vehicle installation volume was 26.3 GWh, down 37.4% month-on-month and down 24.6% year-on-year. From January to February, the total installed capacity was 68.3 GWh, a 7.2% decrease compared to the same period last year.

On March 12, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released the February 2026 monthly data.

The data shows that in February, China’s power battery vehicle installation volume was 26.3 GWh, down 37.4% month-on-month and down 24.6% year-on-year. From January to February, the total installed capacity was 68.3 GWh, a 7.2% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Regarding market concentration, in February, 30 power battery companies supported the installation of new energy vehicles in China, a decrease of 8 companies from the same period last year. The top 2, top 5, and top 10 companies by installed capacity achieved 16.5 GWh, 20.8 GWh, and 24.8 GWh respectively, accounting for 62.6%, 79.3%, and 94.3% of total installations. The top 10 companies’ share increased by 1.1 percentage points compared to last year.

From January to February, 35 power battery companies supported the installation in China’s new energy vehicle market, 6 fewer than last year. The top 2, top 5, and top 10 companies achieved 44.7 GWh, 55.7 GWh, and 64.3 GWh respectively, accounting for 65.4%, 81.5%, and 94.1% of total installations. The share of the top 10 companies decreased by 0.9 percentage points compared to last year.

In terms of market share, among the domestic top 15 power battery companies, compared to January, in February, companies such as CATL, LG Energy Solution, Ruipu LanJun, Sunwoda, Jiyou Tongxing, Yinpai Battery, Yuanhang Jinxin, China Automotive New Energy showed varying degrees of growth, with LG Energy Solution experiencing the highest growth rate of 4.7 percentage points.

Compared to January-February 2025, in the first two months of this year, CATL, Gotion High-tech, EVE Energy, Ruipu LanJun, Sunwoda, LG Energy Solution, Jiyou Tongxing, Zhengli New Energy, Yinpai Battery, Chene New Energy, Yuanhang Jinxin, Juwang Jiyan all saw growth, with CATL’s growth rate reaching 3.68 percentage points.

Regarding changes in the top 15 rankings of domestic power batteries, compared to January, in February, CATL and BYD maintained their first and second positions; Zhongchuang XinHang moved back to third from fourth; LG Energy Solution jumped from 13th to 4th; Gotion High-tech fell back to fifth; EVE Energy, Ruipu LanJun, Sunwoda ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively; Jiyou Tongxing and Zhengli New Energy swapped positions, ranking ninth and tenth; Yinpai Battery rose one place to 11th; Hive Energy fell back to 12th; Chene New Energy, Yuanhang Jinxin, and China Automotive New Energy ranked 13th, 14th, and 15th.

Compared to January-February 2025, the rankings of CATL and BYD remained unchanged; Gotion High-tech and Zhongchuang XinHang swapped positions for third and fourth; EVE Energy remained fifth; Ruipu LanJun and Sunwoda each moved up one rank to sixth and seventh; LG Energy Solution rose from 13th to 8th; Jiyou Tongxing replaced Jiyou New Energy, ranking ninth; Zhengli New Energy and Hive Energy moved down to tenth and eleventh; Yinpai Battery fell one place to 12th; Chene New Energy and Yuanhang Jinxin each moved up one rank to 13th and 14th; Juwang Jiyan was newly listed at 15th.

In terms of battery exports, in February, China’s power and energy storage batteries exported a total of 23.9 GWh, down 0.9% month-on-month but up 13.2% year-on-year, accounting for 20.6% of the monthly sales. Companies such as Gotion High-tech, Chene New Energy, EVE Energy, China Automotive New Energy, and Ruipu LanJun exceeded the average growth rate. The export shares of power and energy storage batteries were 70.6% and 29.4%, respectively, with energy storage batteries’ share increasing by 2.7 percentage points compared to last month.

From January to February, China’s cumulative exports of power and energy storage batteries reached 48.0 GWh, a 24.6% increase year-on-year, accounting for 18.2% of the total sales during the period. CATL, Gotion High-tech, Zhongchuang XinHang, EVE Energy, Ruipu LanJun, and Weihong Power exceeded the average growth rate. The share of power batteries was 72.0%, and energy storage batteries 28.0%, with power batteries’ share increasing by 10 percentage points compared to last year.

By material classification, in February, China’s ternary batteries installed capacity was 5.7 GWh, accounting for 21.7% of total installations, down 39.1% month-on-month and 11.4% year-on-year; lithium iron phosphate batteries installed capacity was 20.6 GWh, accounting for 78.3%, down 36.9% month-on-month and 27.5% year-on-year.

From January to February, cumulative installed capacity of ternary batteries was 15.1 GWh, accounting for 22.1% of total, with a slight increase of 0.6% year-on-year; lithium iron phosphate batteries totaled 53.3 GWh, accounting for 77.9%, with a 9.2% decrease.

Companies listed in the “Top 15 domestic lithium iron phosphate power battery companies by installed capacity in Jan-Feb 2026” include CATL, BYD, Gotion High-tech, EVE Energy, Zhongchuang XinHang, Ruipu LanJun, Sunwoda, Jiyou Tongxing, Zhengli New Energy, Yinpai Battery, Chene New Energy, Hive Energy, Yuanhang Jinxin, Juwang Jiyan, China Automotive New Energy.

The “Top 10 domestic ternary power battery companies by installed capacity in Jan-Feb 2026” include CATL, LG Energy Solution, Hive Energy, Zhongchuang XinHang, EVE Energy, Gotion High-tech, Zhengli New Energy, Sunwoda, Juwang Jiyan, Duofluo.

The companies appearing in both lists—“Top 15 lithium iron phosphate” and “Top 10 ternary” for Jan-Feb 2026—are CATL, Gotion High-tech, Zhongchuang XinHang, EVE Energy, Sunwoda, Hive Energy, Zhengli New Energy, Juwang Jiyan, totaling 8 companies.

Additionally, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance’s key materials demand forecast shows that in February, China’s demand for power and other batteries’ ternary materials was 54,000 tons; lithium iron phosphate materials 287,000 tons; anode materials 198,000 tons; separators 2.83 billion square meters; electrolyte for ternary batteries 24,000 tons; electrolyte for lithium iron phosphate batteries 172,000 tons.

From January to February, the cumulative demand was 116,000 tons for ternary materials, 628,000 tons for lithium iron phosphate, 434,000 tons for anode materials, 6.19 billion square meters for separators, 52,000 tons for ternary battery electrolytes, and 377,000 tons for lithium iron phosphate electrolytes.
