The Hong Kong SAR government will develop its first “5-Year Plan” to align with the national “14th Five-Year Plan” outline. Chief Executive John Lee stated that a collaborative research and feedback mechanism will be established between the SAR government and the Legislative Council.

Legislative Council President Regina Ip, along with the two Legislative Council coordinators, Chan Chun-ying and Ng Chau-bak, said that establishing a cooperation mechanism between the government and the Legislative Council is an innovative and groundbreaking approach, further demonstrating a positive interaction between the executive and the legislature, and moving to a new level. The Legislative Council will fully support this effort, actively gather opinions from various sectors, conduct research and analysis, and submit reports to the SAR government to effectively align with the national “14th Five-Year Plan.”

They emphasized that all Legislative Council members are eager to start this work as soon as possible and will do their best to assist the SAR government in completing Hong Kong’s first “5-Year Plan” early, working together to create a new pattern of united governance.
