Midday Review: Shanghai Index Down 0.71%, Seed Industry and Aquatic Products Concepts Rise Against the Trend

People’s Financial News, March 16 — Today, the three major indices opened with mixed gains and losses, then fluctuated lower, with the Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index dropping over 1% at one point during the session. By midday, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.71%, the Shenzhen Component declined 0.70%, while the ChiNext Index rose 0.18%. In the market, the seed industry concept strengthened against the trend, with Nongfa Seed Industry hitting the daily limit. Aquaculture and marine economy concepts also rose, with Oriental Marine and Shenkai Holdings hitting the limit. Storage chip concepts were active in parts of the market, with Langke Technology and Shengshi Technology hitting the limit. Additionally, sectors such as diversified finance, brewing, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, banking, and tourism led the gains; sectors like non-ferrous metals, steel, mineral products, and chemicals saw the largest declines.
