National Energy Administration Convenes 2026 Power Dispatch, Trading, and Market Order Plant-Grid Liaison Conference

To implement the spirit of the 2026 National Energy Work Conference and Energy Regulatory Work Conference, further standardize electricity dispatching, trading, and market order, and continuously promote the construction and regulation of the electricity market, strengthen communication and exchange of information between power plants and grids, on March 2nd, the National Energy Administration held the 2026 Power Dispatching, Trading, and Market Order Grid-Plant Joint Conference in Beijing. Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration Song Hongkun attended and delivered a speech, with Regulatory Director Liang Changxin presiding over the meeting. The meeting pointed out that in 2026, the National Energy Administration will thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council regarding the construction of a unified national electricity market and strengthening regulation of natural monopoly sectors. In accordance with the requirements of the “General Office of the State Council on Improving the Implementation of the National Unified Electricity Market System,” the agency will adhere to goal-oriented and problem-oriented approaches, deepen the construction of the unified national electricity market, strengthen energy security and supply regulation, promote the effective implementation of policies for green energy transformation, and reinforce key regulatory work such as market order and natural monopoly sectors. The meeting emphasized that this year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Facing new situations and challenges, central and local governments, government enterprises, and power grid companies must work together to firmly safeguard power supply, accelerate green and low-carbon energy transformation, solidly promote the construction of the unified national electricity market, and jointly create a fair competitive market environment to provide strong support for building an energy powerhouse. At the meeting, the Market Regulation Department of the National Energy Administration reported on the current status of electricity market construction and regulation; Beijing and Guangzhou Power Trading Centers introduced related market trading organization information; 14 power companies shared their views on supply and demand, production and operation, market construction, trading order, clean energy absorption, and key tasks for 2026, and offered suggestions and opinions.
