According to informed sources, Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi recently sent a text message to US envoy Wittoff, marking the first "direct contact" since the US-Iran conflict escalated. Araghchi subsequently denied this, claiming the last contact occurred before the attack. Trump also stated that Iran is in dialogue with the US.

On the 16th local time, according to informed sources, Iranian Foreign Minister Alaraji recently sent a text message to U.S. Special Envoy Witkov. Alaraji himself denied this on the same day.

Sources said it is not yet clear how many messages were exchanged between Alaraji and Witkov or what the content was, but this is the first known “direct contact” between the two sides since the U.S.-Iran conflict.

On the same day, Alaraji posted on social media to deny the above claims. He stated that his last contact with Witkov was before Iran was attacked by the U.S. and Israel.
