A recent Consumer Reports study found that several grocery chains, including Costco, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Aldi, Lidl, WinCo, and H-E-B, offer prices lower than Walmart. Costco and BJ’s were found to be approximately 21% cheaper, while discount grocers like Aldi and Lidl were about 8% less expensive. The study highlights that by strategically shopping at different stores, consumers could save hundreds of dollars annually, as the price difference between the cheapest and most expensive grocers exceeded 33%.
