Hong Kong Horse Racing | "Ka Ying High Rise" Ranks First in the World
Hong Kong’s reigning Horse of the Year, “Gae Ying Gao Sheng,” once again brings glory to Hong Kong. In the latest Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings, “Gae Ying Gao Sheng” tops the list, becoming the highest-rated racehorse in the world, maintaining Hong Kong’s record for the highest racehorse rating at 128 points.
“Romantic Warrior” Ranks Second Globally
Meanwhile, another top Hong Kong racehorse, “Romantic Warrior,” follows closely with 124 points, securing second place. Hong Kong racehorses occupy the top two spots in the global rankings, showcasing Hong Kong’s world-class racing level.
Trained by David Hayes, “Gae Ying Gao Sheng” recently won the Queen Silver Jubilee Cup (1400 meters) last month, setting an 18-race winning streak, a Hong Kong record. The 5-year-old “Gae Ying Gao Sheng” will race in the Grade 2 Sprint Trophy (1200 meters) at Sha Tin Racecourse on April 6, aiming to extend the winning streak to 19. Later this year, this world champion horse will travel to Australia again, competing for the prestigious Group 1 prize, the “Mount Everest Stakes” (1200 meters), striving to bring more glory to Hong Kong.
At the same time, “Romantic Warrior,” now 8 years old, remains vigorous. On March 1, he won the Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000 meters), claiming his 13th Group 1 victory, continuously breaking his own record for Group 1 wins and maintaining his position as the highest-earning racehorse globally. “Romantic Warrior” will compete in the final Group 1 race of the Triple Crown, the Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup (2400 meters), on May 24, aiming to become Hong Kong’s Triple Crown winner.
