Alongside the data sharing, the collaboration will include improvements to their offerings across open banking, such as:

* Giving Truist clients increased financial control through Plaid and Truist networks
* A smoother login process to reduce friction
* Shared data and risk indicators from both Plaid and Truist networks
* FDX-aligned API that will replace credential sharing and allow users more control over their connections

Head of digital, client experience and marketing at Truist, Sherry Graziano, commented: "By working together through cooperative data sharing, we’re offering clients improved financial control and insights. This is just one way we’re providing a secure, personalised banking experience that digitally empowers clients and small business owners with a broader view of their financial lives.”

Christy Sunquist, head of open finance at Plaid, added: “Together, the companies are expanding the capabilities of API connectivity and advancing data-driven innovation, including shared intelligence, to provide clients with secure and convenient access to their accounts.”

In February, Truist launched an AI-enabled receivables platform to improve cash visibility.

Plaid, which reached $8 billion valuation last month, announced yesterday that its users can now connect their brokerage account to Perplexity Computer.
