The company acquired the racetrack on March 29, 1994, and began operating a seven-day-a-week broadcast schedule starting May 6, 1994. In May 1995, it launched live horse racing broadcasts and seasonal pari-mutuel betting, typically from early May to early September. In Shakopee, Minnesota, the company conducts pari-mutuel betting at Canterbury Park Racetrack and a card casino facility, offering “no bank account” card games. Its pari-mutuel betting includes wagers on thoroughbred and seasonal horse races. The company also broadcasts races and betting activities on the track throughout the year. The “no bank account” card games involve players competing against each other at the racetrack’s card casino. Additionally, the company generates revenue from related services and activities such as promotions, parking, advertising, publication sales, and other entertainment events held at the racetrack.
