US Government "Shutdown" Causes Long Security Lines at Some Airports

On the 8th local time, it was reported that due to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security “shutdown,” the number of absent personnel at its Transportation Security Administration increased, leading to severe security line congestion at the international airports in New Orleans and Houston. At Houston Hobby Airport, the wait time on the 8th once reached three and a half hours. An international airport in New Orleans notified passengers that they must arrive at least three hours before departure and warned that the long lines could continue for several days. (CCTV News)
