Iran's New Supreme Leader Makes Hardline Remarks as US-Israel "Quick Victory" Plan Fails

On the 12th local time, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued his first statement after taking office. In the statement, he said that Iran will continue to use the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a strategy and called on neighboring countries in the region to close U.S. military bases as soon as possible. Subsequently, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy stated that his forces will respond to the Supreme Leader’s instructions and continue to blockade the Strait of Hormuz.
