[Caixin] Meta’s “Recruitment-style Acquisition” Continues to Make Progress — This time, the target is the social platform Moltbook, an AI-powered social platform that was just launched less than a month and a half ago, adding fuel to the “Lobster Fever.”

On March 10th, U.S. time, the social media giant Meta confirmed the acquisition of Moltbook, a social platform built for AI agents, developed by OpenClaw. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The news of the acquisition was first reported by U.S. digital news outlet Axios. Meta later confirmed the deal, stating that Moltbook founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs (MSL). The transaction is expected to be completed in mid-March, with the two Moltbook founders starting their roles at MSL from March 16.
