On February 13 local time, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights released a report stating that Sudan's Rapid Support Forces killed at least 6,000 civilians during their assault on Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State in the western part of the country, at the end of last year. The report points out that during the first three days of the Rapid Support Forces' assault on Al-Fashir, at least 6,000 civilian deaths occurred in the city and surrounding areas, with approximately 4,400 people killed in the urban area and another approximately 1,600 people killed while fleeing Al-Fashir.
