On February 13th, JD.com Group released a New Year’s greeting letter. The “Daily Economic News” reporter noted that the letter disclosed the latest developments of JD.com Group and its various subsidiaries over the past year, and reviewed and summarized the innovative business developments in sectors such as delivery, local services, and AI (artificial intelligence) in 2025.

The data disclosed in the letter shows that over the past year, 150,000 full-time delivery riders joined JD.com. Notably, JD.com also announced that it plans to invest 22 billion yuan over the next five years to build 150,000 “Brother Homes.”

It is understood that in recent years, JD.com has taken various measures to comprehensively promote housing security for frontline employees. By December 2025, it will have provided 28,000 housing units for frontline staff across 145 cities nationwide.

In terms of innovative businesses, JD.com will focus on local services and offline retail in 2025, launching a series of new ventures such as Qixian Xiaochu, Qixian Coffee, Qixian Food Mall, JD Travel, JD True List, JD Housekeeping, and JD Discount Supermarket.

The “Spring Festival” AI competition among major internet companies is in full swing, but JD.com seems to focus less on “algorithm battles” and more on “benefits.” The letter states that this year, JD.com will invest over 1.3 billion yuan during the nine-day Spring Festival period, providing benefits and protections such as overtime pay, New Year红包, and family reunion subsidies for its procurement, delivery, customer service, medical staff, store employees, housekeeping, and newly added full-time riders, exceeding national legal standards.

Regarding AI-related businesses, JD.com Group stated that it has built a complete layout across five levels: intelligent computing infrastructure, models, platforms, scenarios, and products. It also relies on the JoyAI large model to develop diversified intelligent agents and applications.

The Daily Economic News reporter also noted that JD.com announced it will continue to invest in artificial intelligence over the next three years, aiming to foster a trillion-yuan-scale AI ecosystem. Over the next five years, it plans to purchase 3 million robots, 1 million autonomous vehicles, and 100,000 drones, fully deploying these in logistics and supply chain scenarios.
