Supreme Court Report: The number of DUI convictions decreased from 320,000 in 2023 to 231,000 in 2025

The Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress held its second plenary meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of the 9th. Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People’s Court, delivered the work report of the Supreme People’s Court. The report shows that the Supreme People’s Court, together with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and others, has continued to promote drunk driving control. After the issuance of opinions on handling criminal cases of drunk driving, the number of sentences decreased from 320,000 in 2023 to 231,000 in 2025. The number of traffic accidents, fatalities, and injuries caused by drunk driving has also declined. (CCTV News)
