According to Decrypt, the Moldovan National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) stated that a funding network using cryptocurrency to interfere in the country's 2025 parliamentary elections involves approximately $107 million USDT. The related funds are reportedly transferred through non-custodial wallets into Moldova intermediaries and exchanged for cash to finance political propaganda, bribe voters, and organize rallies. TRM Labs stated that some of the fund flows may be related to Russian-backed influence operations InfoLider, the Kyrgyzstan exchange TokenSpot, and sanctioned Russian crypto networks.
