Abstract generation in progress

On February 4, according to Cointelegraph, the Nevada Gaming Control Board filed a civil enforcement action against CEX, accusing it of offering sports event contract betting services without proper licensing. Nevada authorities have applied to the court for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction to prevent CEX from operating “derivative exchanges and prediction markets” related to sports betting. This lawsuit comes less than a week after CEX announced a partnership with Kalshi to launch prediction markets in all 50 states. Although the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulates Kalshi at the federal level, the platform still faces legal challenges from state regulators.
