X launches a $1 million reward campaign for original articles

On January 18, the official creator account @XCreators posted that X’s revenue distribution reached its highest record since the start of the profit plan at the end of 2025. 2026 is the Year of the Creator, and X is doubling down on the area where creators excel—“writing.” The goal is to recognize high-value, high-impact content that can shape conversations, generate news, and promote cultural development. Creator Studio will soon launch a more detailed revenue overview panel. X will place greater emphasis on article formats and other long-form content compared to short-form content. The aim is to make X the best platform for earning money through content, and this is just the beginning. X will award an additional $1 million to the highest-earning article in the next revenue cycle. The article must be original, with no less than 1,000 words, and the main criterion for evaluation will be exposure on the homepage timeline. Participation is limited to users in the United States. Content that violates X policies, contains hate speech, fraud, or manipulative content will not be eligible. The publication window for articles is from January 16 to 28.
