I heard that WKEY is working on a pretty interesting project—collaborating with its subsidiaries WISeSat and SEALSQ to partner with Kaynes Technology's satellite division in India to produce post-quantum secure satellites.
Post-quantum cryptography is indeed the future direction. As quantum computing gradually approaches practical stages, existing encryption systems face threats, making it necessary to proactively deploy quantum-resistant communication infrastructure. Their plan to integrate this technology at the satellite level means ensuring data security from space communication itself, which is quite forward-thinking.
Using India as a strategic manufacturing and launch hub also has its considerations. India's satellite industry chain is relatively complete, with significant cost advantages, and its geographical location is very favorable for launch windows. Once this system is operational, the post-quantum secure satellite communication infrastructure can support key applications within the Web3 ecosystem—from DeFi node communication to cross-chain data verification—all requiring this level of security.
This is not just about hardware stacking but about making technical preparations for the long-term security of distributed networks.
