Dispute between Eliza and Musk's platform escalates to federal court with allegations of monopolistic practices
Eliza Labs, a company specializing in the development of artificial intelligence agents, has filed a lawsuit against X Corp in a case that sparks discussions about antitrust behavior on digital platforms. The lawsuit, filed by Shaw Walters, founder and legal representative of Eliza, alleges that the platform used sensitive technological information shared by the company to develop a competing AI product.
According to the analyzed court records, Eliza Labs argues that it was forced to reveal technical details about the operation of AI agents on social networks, while simultaneously facing demands to pay high corporate licensing fees. The company states that these requirements aimed to keep developers tied to the platform under unfavorable conditions.
The legal petition filed with the federal court in San Francisco claims that X Corp exploited its hegemonic position in the social media market to eliminate potential competitors. According to Eliza, the suspension of its account was not due to editorial issues but a deliberate strategy designed to harm its business, drive away customers, and prevent the company’s expansion.
Both parties await formal statements while the court analyzes the evidence presented. The case represents an important legal test regarding the limits of corporate power of large technology platforms.
