**Technical indicators are alarming, but don’t rush to clear your positions**
Solana’s current awkward situation is reflected in the K-line—MACD shows a death cross above the zero axis, a signal that seasoned traders understand: the bulls are exhausted, and the market is about to adjust. SOL’s rally in 2025 was indeed fierce, but early 2026 saw a pretty harsh correction. That’s the technical story, but it’s not the whole story.
**Alpenglow upgrade is the real trump card**
The technical charts look bleak, but Solana’s fundamentals have strong support—Alpenglow upgrade. The core of this upgrade is two words: speed. What does a 150-millisecond confirmation speed mean? Compared to ETH, SOL can leave several lengths behind. If the upgrade proceeds as scheduled in the first quarter, high-frequency trading firms (these HFT players are loaded) will flood in, and this influx of capital can directly suppress sell pressure on the technical side.
**How traders should play**
The current situation is: only a break below can lead to a breakout. The 130U line must not be lost; losing it means testing support below 130U, possibly down to 100U or even lower. But if it holds, combined with positive ETF news, SOL could challenge its previous high by the end of 2026. Traders know that although volatility is intimidating, the risk-reward ratio near support levels is truly worth betting on. Right now? It’s not the time. Wait until it retraces to a better entry point.
