It's time to revisit an age-old topic—does a free lunch really exist?



Take those so-called zero-commission trading platforms, for example. On the surface, they don’t charge you any fees, but what’s really going on? Payment for order flow is just another way to take money out of users’ pockets, only in a more covert manner. They hang up a “free” sign, but behind the scenes, the charges might be even harsher than overt fees.

To put it bluntly, it’s having it both ways.

Personally, I don’t buy into the hype of zero-cost trading. After years of experience in the market, I’ve learned one thing: what appears to be free is often the most expensive.
