On the Qixi Festival, I held a "solo holiday party" at home for myself. 
The fairy lights were lit, my favorite pasta was cooking in the kitchen, and a gentle playlist was playing on repeat. I poured myself a glass of red wine and raised my glass, saying, "Cheers to the hardest-working version of myself." 
Someone asked me if being single on Qixi Festival feels lonely. Actually, it doesn't, because I have learned to enjoy my own company. Loneliness is merely a definition from the outside, and I prefer to call it "self-encounter." 
Looking back, the most romantic thing isn't walking down a long street with someone, but being able to live a sparkling life even when you are alone. 
Qixi Festival is not a reminder of lacking love, but a celebration of self-love. May I always remain gentle and strong, loving myself well first, and then waiting for the winds to come.
