Kế hoạch kiểm toán toàn diện được xem là bước chuẩn bị cho tham vọng gọi vốn lớn và mở rộng vào thị trường Mỹ dưới khung pháp lý mới từ GENIUS Act. Với khoảng 185 tỷ USD lưu hành, USDT hiện là stablecoin lớn nhất thị trường.

Cuộc kiểm toán của KPMG dự kiến bao phủ toàn bộ tài sản, nợ phải trả và hệ thống kiểm soát nội bộ. Tuy nhiên, Tether chưa công bố thời điểm hoàn tất. Trước đó, công ty từng bị Commodity Futures Trading Commission phạt và đạt thỏa thuận với Tổng chưởng lý New York liên quan đến vấn đề minh bạch dự trữ.
