MACD is a very obvious exhaustion signal. Moreover, this position itself is a typical triangular wedge oscillation where the price should move in the direction that volume and price carry it. In an oscillating market, I should have gone short at the upper band and long at the lower band (with take profits also near the upper and lower bands), rather than predicting the direction prematurely! And considering the exhaustion signal from MACD, I should have first considered a bearish bias for the overall direction.
