Deep Tide TechFlow News: On May 5, Google, Microsoft, and xAI under Alphabet have agreed to provide the U.S. government with early access to their artificial intelligence models to assess the systems’ capabilities and help improve system safety before the technology is released to the public. According to a statement issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday, under these agreements, AI developers—together with OpenAI and Anthropic PBC—will be allowed to undergo pre-release review of their models by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s AI Standards and Innovation Center. The agency said that OpenAI and Anthropic have renegotiated their existing partnerships with the center to better align with the priorities in Trump’s AI Action Plan. (Jin10)
